My daughter and I spent some time with this bee at the park yesterday.
This is how we look and feel when we’re immersed in deep, meaningful, significant work.
Or just having a great time.
Or both, which is more attainable than many of my fellow physicians may think.
It can and should be messy, but it should also be fun and feel good.
For me, it’s when I connect with a patient/family/caregiver on a level that has them seeing me as more than just the “provider” the system assigned to them.
When there is buy-in from both sides on a journey we know takes way more than 10-15 minute visit every few months or once a year.
When, at the end of the visit, they think or say, “Wow, that was different.”
We can think and do different in healthcare. Our lives depend on it.
