I haven’t yet written much about creating or selling products, but a recent post in My LinkedIn News feed got me thinking.
“Weight loss drugs could be on the way to becoming a $100 billion industry.
Firms from Citi to Goldman Sachs say sales of treatments like Wegovy (the sister drug to Ozempic) and Mounjaro — which were initially developed to treat diabetes — are likely to surpass initial estimates, CNBC reports.
One Guggenheim analyst even argues that these medications will become ‘the most prescribed drugs ever’ within the next decade, especially as pill formulations become available.”
What can we learn from this?
If you want to sell something:
Make it Easy.
Make it Fast.
Make it Effective.
This works because it’s human nature.
The assumption here is the product solves a problem or alleviates a pain point. Don’t forget that part.
Otherwise:
Make it Easy.
Make it Fast.
Make it Effective.
Let’s call this Dr. Lewellis’ 2.5 Es of Seductively Sellable Products because an F is basically half an E.
It’s not the only way, but it sure is a good way.
I didn’t make it up. You’ll find it said a thousand other ways from a thousand other people, but maybe this is the one you’ll remember.
Make it Easy.
Make it Fast.
Make it Effective.
Doctors are excellent problem solvers and pain relievers, but they sure don’t teach this stuff in med school.
What are you creating? Who are you learning from?
